About the Carillon Belles Chorus
The Carillon Belles chorus is a membership organization of female singers, who meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize, and have fun. We currently have singers of all ages, all walks of life, and from parts of Norfolk and surrounding counties.
Performance
The main purpose of the Carillon Belles chorus is to get out and sing for our community. We are available to sing at your next function or event, If you're looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, contact us.
Education
In addition to sharing our music with others, another great passion of ours is learning more about the art of a cappella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals, and a very important component of the chorus experience. We attend educational opportunities presented on both a regional and national level. We have coaches that offer their expertise in the many nuances of musical presentation and vocal skills.
The Carillon Belles Chorus participates in the Region 2 chorus competitions. Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together to sing. We learn from experts in the Barbership craft and are given constuction feedback and encouragement on where we can improve. . The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories can choose to participate at International Competitions, held in the fall.
Affiliation
Our Carillon Belles chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines, International, a non-profit organization of approximately 20 Thousand members in choruses and quartets, worldwide. The Headquarters is in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
